- Microsoft Windows Vista, Server 2003/2008/2012/2016/2019, or Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit) installed and configured on your system
- 1 GHz processor (2.4 GHz recommended)
- 1 GB of RAM (4 GB recommended)
- 1 GB of free hard disk space for installation (more if you use custom dictionaries) For hardware acceleration on some strong file types, it is recommended to have 2 x (RAM + GPUs RAM) of free disk space for paging file.
Passware software supports PC platforms only. However, it can recover passwords for some files created on Macintosh such as FileMaker. You can run Passware products on any virtual environment available (VirtualBox, Wine, Parallels Desktop, etc) to unprotect your files. Please note that MS Office files cannot be decrypted instantly and password recovery for such files is a time-consuming process.
Passware Kit Forensic for Mac is a beta version. This beta is available for free to all Passware Kit Forensic customers with an active SMS subscription.
For Windows Key editions, a Windows Setup CD (32-bit or 64-bit) is required, as well as a burning CD-RW drive in order to record a password reset CD instead of a USB disk. If you do not own a Windows Setup CD, please request an ISO file from us.
